Infinity is delighted to announce that our investment management partner, Tilney, has just been named Wealth Manager of the Year at the Investors Chronicle and Financial Times Investment and Wealth Management Awards 2018.
Awards within our industry don’t come much more prestigious than this, coveted all the more because it has been voted for by readers. Tilney also scooped up the Best Discretionary/Advisory Wealth Manager title while the company’s Bestinvest brand picked up Best Low-cost SIPP Provider and Best Investment Platform.
Of course, these awards merely confirm what we already know: that Tilney provide first-class wealth management. It is why we made the market-leading decision to outsource investment management to them back in 2011. This seven year (and counting!) partnership, an exclusive in Asia, has enabled us to increase our assets under management from $100million to over $260million and help thousands of people to achieve their financial goals.
We are grateful to all those who entrust us with their financial planning and we never take our responsibility lightly. It is the reason why we focus on doing what we do best – financial planning – and let Tilney handle the investments. Within the industry the two roles are frequently blurred, and often merged into one, something which is never in the best interest of clients. In fact, we always say that trusting one person to do both jobs would be like asking your GP to carry out complex heart surgery!
The role of Infinity’s highly qualified financial planners is to ascertain a client’s goals and objectives in the context of their current situation, analyse where the financial gaps are, or will be in the future, and deliver a plan to bridge them. We take this job very seriously indeed, using sophisticated online risk profiling to understand our clients’ tolerance to risk and a bespoke data management system to facilitate communication and improve the customer experience.
Once that is done, we involve Tilney. Their investment management expertise is based on exhaustive and continuous in-house research into individual funds, managers and markets. The aim is to deliver maximum growth in line with the client’s objectives while at the same time minimising risk, and the company’s track record speaks for itself. Tilney have £23billion of assets under management around the globe as well as a host of awards, including this most recent one.
Although we have separate and clearly defined roles, one thing that Infinity and Tilney do share is an unparalleled commitment to keeping our clients’ needs at the heart of our business based on the following shared philosophies:
- Dedication to a client-focussed approach
- Absolute respect of every client’s tolerance to risk
- The belief that a research-driven allocation approach will provide the best possible comprehensive, consistent and risk-adjusted management for our clients
- A focus on the long-term investment horizon in order to maximise returns and reduce the probability of an overall loss
- A conviction that diversification across asset classes and geographical areas is key to striking the best balance between risk and reward and reducing volatility
By adhering strictly to these principles, together Infinity and Tilney deliver unrivalled results for our clients in terms of both return and customer satisfaction.
