About Rodney
I recently moved to Cambodia but I am originally from Perth, Australia where I had a successful career in the Financial Services industry. Starting in the industry in the mid 1990’s I worked for a state based financial institution, Bankwest as a Home Loan Specialist, moving in the early 2000’s to a national financial institution, Westpac Bank as a Home Finance Manager and later to the position of a Relationship Manager in their Premium Financial Services business unit. My role was to build and maintain a portfolio of high networth clients managing their finances and sourcing investment strategies aimed at building their wealth. In 2010 I moved to a global financial institution, Citibank and in 2016 I moved from the banking sector to the mortgage broking channel, starting my own business as a Mortgage Broker and after seven years built a successful loan book with an estimated value >$360M.
The success I have enjoyed within the Financial Services industry can be attributed to my strong focus on quality customer service, commitment to building and growing lasting relationships, and always remaining customer centric. Over the years I have established meaningful relationships with my clients, where I am now considered a source of knowledge beyond just financial services and valued as a trusted advisor. When I informed my clients was moving overseas the response was overwhelming, full of unanimous wishes that I should continue managing their financial service needs from abroad in Cambodia and for that matter, wherever my professional Financial Consultant career takes me. Knowing my clients want me to maintain managing their financial affairs and needs for them is the best recognition I could ever ask for.
Aside from my professional life I enjoy staying active, I workout at the gym three times a week, do boxing and cycling and generally enjoy most outdoor sports and activities, though with my recent move to Cambodia I intend experiencing everything the country has to offer and can’t wait to immerse myself in the culture, its history and the food.
